Trade Desk Officer

Alpha Value Management Limited (AVM) is a licensed entity regulated by the Malta Financial Services Authority under the Investment Services Act. It is set up primarily to carry on its business in Asset Management as well as Administration services to Collective Investment Schemes, such as UCITs, AIFs and NAIFs.

AVM is looking for a highly motivated person to work within its front/middle office environment (Trade Desk) Team. The ideal candidate must be hard working and able to undertake a variety of front/middle office tasks, and work diligently under pressure. This person will be comfortable working with a high degree of attention to detail, as well as always open to incorporating new and effective ways to achieve better results.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
 Ability to handle all operational procedures on Bloomberg within the parameters set out in the procedure manual of the company.
 Monitor and review pricing and ratings of all securities and products held in portfolios.
 Conduct Pre-Trade Checks and have the ability to enforce approved and regulatory limits as illustrated in the company’s policies and procedures.
 Interact and communicate with the Portfolio Managers on prices and market data.
 Handle Trade Simulations and Executions.
 Maintain skill set by undertaking relevant training throughout the year where and when required
 Interact directly with Back and Middle office on all matters ranging from simulation to execution of trades, Securities and Liquidity reconciliations.
 Maintain knowledge of current alternative procedures and processes through internal training;
 Assist with ad-hoc projects from time to time.

YOUR PROFILE:
 Bachelor s Degree in Commerce / Economics with a specialization in Business, Accounting, Finance MCAST Business Sciences course or part-ACCA preferred;
 1 to 2 years’ experience in a front/middle/back office-related environment;
 Basic Knowledge of Bloomberg terminal;
 An understanding of financial services and investment products.is considered an asset;
 Strong PC skills, specifically Excel skills (Intermediate level);
 Strong problem-solving skills;
 Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities to meet internal and industry deadlines;
 Attention to detail;
 Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
